Friday Fragment's Two Week (or more!) Edition

Friday Fragments?

Ugh! It's been forever since I've actually blogged, and even longer since I've done a Friday Fragments. Life has been kicking my ass lately, and I just want a break!!

We still don't have internet at home. I didn't think this would be possible. I am about to go crazy without it.

Seriously.

I have all my paperwork turned in for school, taken the CPT, (more on that in a minute) have taken the orientation online, registered for it in person, and now I get to wait till it's time for me to register, which is in December. I WILL have my internet back by then!  I will, because I will have too! I am planning on doing online courses...so something's gotta give.

Yes, the CPT, aka, the Computer Placement Test. The test I had to take to figure out which math I would be in when I start back to school. Yeah. I bombed it. Surprisingly, not as bad as I thought...but still enough that I have to take 3, yes, THREE prep courses till I can begin a regular college math class. I am still thanking my lucky stars that my English credit transferred. YAY for a small miracle!

Last Friday I attended an Aim High Award ceremony for Emily. So happens that Elayna was also being recognized, but we weren't notified. It was so nice of her mother to let us know about it, wasn't it (insert sarcasm)? Aim High is an award that is awarded for different themes of outstanding character. Emily's award was for initiative, and Elayna's award was for accountability (you're welcome CLE!).

My dad was on a business trip this past week in Reno, Nevada. Keep in mind he lives in Orlando, Florida. After getting off his shuttle bus at this hotel, he began experiencing excruciating pains in his stomach. By the time he could get to his room, and to the bathroom, he was losing massive amounts of blood. Him, being his stubborn self, stayed at the hotel till Tuesday morning when he was able to  get in touch with his doctor in Orlando, who convinced him to going to the hospital. Once he got there, he was on the borderline of needing a blood transfusion and his blood pressure was dangerously low. It was such a scary time for all of us here in Florida because we had no idea what was going on, and the communication wasn't the greatest. It was finally determined that he would need a colonoscopy, which he underwent yesterday. He was diagnosed with  colitis, along with something else, (can't remember the dang name!) which almost NEVER happen together, which is what caused all the infection and blood loss. The doctor told him after sugery yesterday that he was happy that my dad listened to his Orlando doctor and stayed in Reno, because had he decided to fly home, his body would have made it, but he would not have. I lost it when I found that out.

See this little beauty?

This would be my little brother's dream car. A 2010 Chevy Camaro. This thing is a DREAM to drive. Say's me and my little brother.

Background: Little brother special ordered it, color's, engine, wheel's, you name it. He was foaming at the mouth waiting on this thing to come in.

Well, little brother has been enjoying this car very much. So much so, he's been racing it at the local race track. Wanna know what happened? Yeah. He blew up the transmission.

His status on Facebook? "Ugh. FML" Ya, think??

I saw the the funniest personalized car tag the other day. It was on a pretty black Escalade. It said "NUR FACE"

The weather is finally cooling down, and we are able to sleep with our window's open. It is HEAVENLY!

Emily brought home her report card on Wednesday. She got straight A's!! I am so proud of that girl!

On my Facebook yesterday, I say this status update on a friends page:
A friends/friend has a 5 yr old little boy, Noah, who is in the last stages of Nueroblastoma cancer 2 1/2 yr battle. The family's celebrating Christmas next week, & Noah's request is to get a lot of Christmas cards. Let's send the little guy some: Noah Biorkman 1141 Fountain View Circle South Lyon, MI 48178.... ......Lets ...see how many cards we can get him! Pass it on!
Whenever I see anything like this, I always look it up on Snopes or Google it. I think way to much crap is going on in this world, and sad to say, but I feel the need to check it all out.

Sadly, though, IT is true. Do you have an extra Christmas card to send to this little boy?

I think that about does it for my fragments. There was a mish-mash for sure.

If you have lot's of little stuff to blog about, and you just wanna throw it out there, link up over at Mrs. 4444's at Half-Past Kissing Time's Friday Fragments.

Have a great weekend!!

I don't know how you're doing it without internet. You must be going nuts!

I can't believe your brother blew the transmission!

Life without Internet would be tough. I am sorry to hear life has been rough.

I hope you can get your internet back soon. I'd DIE!

Sometimes I wonder what makes dad's do the things they do. My dad is really smart but sometimes with health stuff I just think "WHYYYYY"

ahem... I am not going to say much about your dad's stubbornness. ;) I am so glad he is okay. That is really dangerous.

I heard about Noah on Facebook. How freaking horrible. I just can't wrap my mind around why these things happen.

Way to go to Emily for being such a stand-up kid!

Thanks for stopping by my place.

I know how you feel about math... I am debating taking a placement course to see where I fall.

So glad to hear your dad is all right.

I went and found a card I had leftover from last year and I am going to get my whole family to sign it.
